(2) Design of sphere_Tessellation of a sphere using a great circle

 Tessellation of a cube

Using [Spherical octacu], mark the eight corners of a regular cube on a white ball. (You can also mark the corners of a regular octahedron.)

Next, connect the dots on the ball to form an arc.

Color the divided surfaces alternately.

Tessellation of a regular octahedron

Using [Spherical octacu], mark the six vertices of a regular octahedron on a white ball, then mark the centers of the eight spherical triangles. (You can also mark the eight vertices of a regular cube using [Spherical octacu].)

With 14 points marked, connect all neighboring points with an arc of a great circle.

Just paint each divided side alternately orange.

Tessellation of the icosahedron

Using [Spherical icodo], mark the 12 vertices of an icosahedron on a white ball.

Connect the 12 vertices with an arc of a circle.

Now, let's connect the two vertices that are a bit further apart with an arc of the great circle.

By painting each side alternately, you will complete a design of sphere like the one below.
